To Nuke or Not To Nuke?

I’m not sure if you’ve heard that Obama has been negotiating with Russia in the area of nuclear weapons. He’s trying to limit our use of nukes and ultimately create a weaponless society. As a pacifist a weaponless society sounds great, but as a part-time realist it’ll never work.

I don’t like fighting but if another country attacks us what are we going to do without weapons? Some countries we can negotiate with but others are going to see us as weak. Negotiation should be first and if that fails then attack.

As I mentioned, he’s been trying to limit our use of nukes. This is ultimately how I feel about nuclear weapons.
Nuclear weapons have always made me a little nervous. Did you know the U.S. has enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world at least seven times over! Woah! That, ofcourse, was the result of an arms race, which I’m not going to get into right now. I like nukes for one reason: self defense. We’ve seen the destruction they cause and honestly I don’t think they should be used on an other country. Now I do think if a country shoots nuclear missile at us, then we should immediately react and shoot down their nuclear missile with ours. Then we should invade that country, and just eliminate the people that attacked us. There’s no need for extreme civilian causalities.

Wow, I feel like I’ve gone in an extremely militant direction. Haha I hope you won’t think less of me.

I don’t know what’s going to happen. Fox News posted an article about it on twitter last night. I still haven’t seen anything from Newsweek or NY Times, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t. It’ll be interesting (and a little scary) to see what happens. My solution is just pray Obama will make the right decision.
