Follow-up on Passion

Louie posted this blog this morning about the all the money given at passion. It’s truely amazing what God can do with people when they open up to him!

Passion 2011!

I just got back from Passion 2011! It was pretty awesome! This was my first time to go.  I really wasn’t sure what to expect, other than Louie.  I’m just going to go ahead and admit that I’m not a big fan of Louie.  I don’t know what it is about him, but he just bothers me…  Anyway, I heard Francis Chan, David Platt, Beth Moore and John Piper for the first time.  I added Francis Chan and David Platt to my list of Christian heros.  I like Chan and Platt because they just seem so passionate and burdened about what they’re doing.
God really moved in our group.  We had one girl in our group accept Christ, which was awesome! I was in a bit of a Spiritual dip before the trip, but this was the kick I needed to get back on track.  I just feel so burdened to do something for God now.  I talked to my youth director about possibly doing a Bible Study.  I don’t have the slightest clue how to do it or what to do it on, but I think I will give it a shot.

There were more artists there than I have ever seen.  David Crowder; and his awesome beard, Charlie Hall, Chris Tomlin, Lacrae, Kristian Stanfil, and Matt Redman.  Those are the only ones I can think of right now.  Ha Lacrae wasn’t one of the worship leaders, but he was one of nite life concerts.  He was crazy good!  Although, he made me feel very white….See, I had never actually been to rap concert before that.  So, I thought everyone would just stand up, but as it turns out people dance and what not.

We stayed at an amazing hotel!  Haha I got a complementary hot chocolate every morning!  It was also amazing! Very nice staff, very tip worthy!

Also, we managed to raised $1.3 million for several different charities.  We freed 21 girls from sex trafficking, built 25 wells in India, delivered 30,000 Bibles to Columbia, gave 78,000 socks and towels to homeless shelters around Atlanta and we managed to feed 2,000 children in Africa 3 meals a day for an entire year.  I can’t remember all the charities we gave to but after all the givings were added up it totaled over 1 million.  That was amazing to me!  I’m glad to have been a part of it!

All in all it was a very good four days!  I think everyone should try passion atleast once! It is an amazing spiritual experience!
